A plus-sized rapper, who identifies as a BBW or "big beautiful woman," has filed a lawsuit against Lyft after one of the company’s drivers allegedly refused her a ride, claiming she was too large for his car.

Dank Demoss, also known as Dajua Blanding, says the incident occurred earlier this month in Detroit. According to her, the Lyft driver arrived in a Mercedes-Benz sedan but locked his doors upon arrival.               

   

“I can fit in this car,” Demoss said in a video she shared on social media on January 19.

“Believe me, you can’t,” the driver replied, later explaining there wasn’t enough space in the back and that his car’s tires couldn’t support her weight.

The driver, identified as Ibrahim in the viral clip, was recorded apologizing but insisting he was canceling the ride. He suggested Demoss order an XL vehicle instead.

“I’ve been in this situation before,” Ibrahim stated, to which Demoss responded, “So every big person, you turn down because they can’t fit in your car?”

Demoss, who revealed last year that she weighs 554 pounds, filed the lawsuit against Lyft

 this week.
