Tinubu Excels in Politics but Fails in Governance, Says SDP’s Adebayo

Presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the 2023 elections, Prince Adewole Adebayo, has delivered a scathing review of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, declaring that while the president may boast an A1 in politics, he earns nothing more than an F9 in governance.

Adebayo made the remarks during a recent interview, where he assessed the performance of the Tinubu administration after over a year in office.

“I will give the president A1 in politics, but when it comes to governance, it’s an outright F9,” Adebayo stated frankly.

He argued that the administration’s policy choices and governance style have not translated into tangible benefits for Nigerians, especially in areas such as economic management, public service delivery, and institutional accountability.

The SDP chieftain also took a swipe at political sycophancy, warning that praise-singing and image management cannot mask what he described as “glaring administrative failure.”

“What we are seeing is a government focused more on survival and power retention than on delivering meaningful reforms,” he said, lamenting the lack of people-centered decision-making and strategic planning.

Adebayo urged President Tinubu to move beyond political tactics and urgently focus on real governance, warning that citizens were growing increasingly disillusioned by the lack of visible progress.

His remarks add to a growing chorus of criticism from opposition leaders and civil society groups who say the government has not lived up to its campaign promises.

President Tinubu’s team has yet to officially respond to Adebayo’s comments.
